STRAKES. Strake Closure Without Further Reinforcement Work #1

strakesstrakeclosurewithoutfurtherreinforcementwork1.jpg

One significant difference from the right strake was developing a better method to close the strake. See # 11 on Related Projects / Ideas for a detailed explanation of the Bujanda method for one-step strake closure without further reinforcement work. I also installed the two rear bulkheads while the strake was open, but this time, I made flanges between the center main spar and the top strake. I placed microglass on them during the top strake installation completing all thwe reinforcements at the time of closure. This way, I did not have to make any reinforcements or bulkhead installations after closing the strake.
