BATTERY SHELF INSTALLATION                            (Section Photo Album)

The battery shelf came molded from the factory.  I opted to glass and tap hard points on the bottom so that threaded rods can be screwed from the top to hold the battery.  I installed the shelf in place with structural epoxy (Aeropoxy), per the manual.  I made four holes in the hard points to allow use of at least two of the most popular battery brands’ sizes.  I cut a piece of aluminum from one of the I-beam sections to use as a strap and secure the battery in place with threaded rods, lock washers and wing nuts.

LANDING / TAXI LIGHTS

I modified the landing light and did not install the base for it in the nose compartment.  I built a modified taxi light in its place that you can see in the Taxi Light section of the Electrical / Instruments page.  I intend to install separate landing lights somewhere on the wings.
